Nursing Clinical Director – Ophthalmic Ambulatory Surgery

An Ophthalmic Ambulatory Surgery Center in Swansea, MA is seeking a dedicated and self-motivated nurse
leader to join their team as an ASC Clinical Director to include supervision of Pre op, OR, and PACU. Facility
has 4 Operating Rooms and 1 Laser Procedure Room. We perform a wide variety of ophthalmic surgical
procedures including Cataract, Glaucoma, Retina and Oculoplastics. CD will provide leadership, be organized,
resourceful, reliable, and dedicated. Candidate should also have the ability to multi-task, adjust to changes, and
implement improvements.

Position Summary:

The Clinical Director is responsible for all aspects of clinical care delivery and staff
supervision within this ophthalmic ambulatory setting in accordance with established Federal, State, and
AAAHC regulations and Center policies and procedures. Also responsible for Quality Improvement/Risk
Management. As a Registered Nurse, the CD is also responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and
coordinating patient care from admission to discharge while ensuring patient safety and clinical quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervises daily nursing and clinical operations and activities of the Perioperative Services
Responsible for federal, state and accreditation regulatory compliance
Implementation and oversight of clinical policies, standards, protocols, procedure development, Quality
Improvement, Infection Control, Safety Plan, Materials Management, Staff Orientation and Development, and
Medical Record documentation
Manages the performance of employees by setting clear performance standards and providing appropriate
feedback through the performance appraisal process
Responsible for clinical staffing schedules
Responsible for coordinating surgical case and new procedures and associated needs; instrument, supplies,
equipment and staff
Performs other duties as assigned


Licenses/Certificates/Education/Experience Eligibility:
Current Massachusetts R.N. License
CNOR preferred
BSN in nursing
Experience as Registered Nurse in operating room – Ophthalmic OR experience preferred. Experience in
leadership in outpatient perioperative areas managing and developing people and programs.
